The Pirate

Captain Vanessa was a mean, cruel pirate. She thought she could have anything she wanted. One night Vanessa over heard two other pirates talking about a sword that makes you immortal, and where it was. The next morning she went searching for the sword at the super market. At last Vanessa found it but!!! The sword didn’t work. “That was all lies,” Vanessa said.

The Ghost Monster

In a faraway land close to a place called ‘Ghostly Hollows’ there was a little boy named Daniel. He once lived in a dark forest until a dark beast came and squashed his house which left a watery footprint. He then set off the find the creature. On the way he found a deserted lab. He entered the lab and helped himself to anything he could carry with his bare hands. Out of all the items he found a potion. It looked and smelt very appealing and without thinking he drank it. His sight blurred and everything started spinning then started to fade away… To be continued!! Din, Din, Din …

G. I. Movies

Stomp, stomp, went room6 through to the Extreme screen. Up the stairs year 8 and 7 sat down on the red couches. They all looked comfortable. They were there to gather for the Tamaki cluster to show other schools their movies, and what they had learnt. Suddenly the movie began, the room six’s eyes popped out as they were filled with excitement like children with presents. Movie by movie was shown to everyone. Year 7’s and 8’s students loved the lazy boy chairs as it comes out slowly going up with their legs. St Pius School stood up and screamed loud when Angelica and Lavinia walked up to tell other schools what it was about. At the end the film festival room 6 walked out of Hoyts. Room 6 couldn’t decide which one was their favourite movie, so! Their favourite was all of them. They all went back to the bus and left Sylvia Park.

Film Festival Entry 2010

Confident:
Room 6 were all confident while filming our movie because we gathered our media study skills and co-operated together as a group.

Connected:
One of the ways that was possible to make our movie was to skype Mr Ballew from Shorewood High School in Washington DC, America. Shorewoods lipdub inspired us a lot.

Actively Involved:
While planning our movie one thing we all agreed on was that everyone would be in our movie and have a role to play.

Life Long Learners:
Our movie has inspired us to make more movies.
One day some of us hope to be the next Peter Jackson.

We hope you enjoy our movie……….. let's REWIND!

Proud To Be A Student

Written together by the students of Room 6.

On the 6th day God created man and woman.

On the 7th day he rested.

On the 8th day God created the first STUDENT.

Even though the STUDENT hated school, he didn't think about dropping out of school because he never gave up and had perseverance.

STUDENTS are willing to learn by listening to the instructions and sharing their thoughts with other people.

The STUDENTS is very friendly so God was friendly to him and created a playground for all students to enjoy.

God gave the STUDENTS ears to hear with, a mouth to speak with, a nose to smell with and eyes to see with. So those 4 things could help them with their learning.

Some STUDENTS can be grumpy but others are always there to help fill them with happiness again.

And because God loves STUDENTS so much, on the 9th day God created the weekend so that students could rest like him on the 7th day.

My Reflection of the Past, Present and Future

In Term 3 I tried my best to reach my goals. My goals were in maths because I'm not good at it and also a goal with raise my writing level. I was in vocab's group but I progressed to Paragraph's group which means I did raise my writing level.

On thing I did in the holidays was sleeping over at my Nan's place. I was looking after her and my Grandpa because my Grandpa was very lick. Luckily my Grandpa is good now because my Nan prayed and prayed for God to heal him. It helped and I felt relieved that my Grandpa is still alive.

Also during the holidays on a sunny afternoon my whole family went down for a picnic at Eastern Beach. My Mum and Aunty packed lunch - cornbeef and bread. As soon as I got there I was spread with sunblock and I headed to the water. "Oh No" I cried, the tide was out "no more water, well that stinks" I was heard to say. The heat was rising through the sand and the sand was blowing into my eyes. Me and my baby cousin just played on the sand. "Home time!" my Mum shouted. "Ooooohhhhhh" I said in a sad voice. My Mum and all of my family packed up and we went home.

In term 4 my goals are to have fun at camp and enjoy the experience. I wonder what my bed will look like? and who I am going to have in my room? Are we even going to get any sleep? The whole thing at the moment is a big question mark!!

My Washing Hands Process

  1. Turn on the tap, turning it to the right, when the water comes out don't turn it too hard.

  2. Rinse your hands under the water to make them slightly damp. Push down the soap dispenser in your hand to the size of a coin and scrub your hands.

  3. Put your hands under the water and wash off the soap.

  4. Take the towel and rub your hands to make them dry.
